Joy is a ceramic artist living, creating and teaching in Toronto, Ontario.  She has had a lifelong passion for art, design and nature. She studied fine arts in University before transferring into interior design and spending 15 years working in the interior design field.  

Her interest in clay led her to take pottery classes in Edmonton and Toronto and then to apprentice with potter Paul Stewart from 2002-2005. She began working full time in ceramics in 2004 and has since participated in many juried art and craft shows and earned second in show at the 2008 Queen West Art Crawl.   

Joy has taught ceramics in public schools including Rosedale Heights School of the Arts, Lawrence Park C.I. and Essex Public School. At Lawrence Park and Essex her teaching was funded by the Ontario Arts Council through the Artists in Education program. She continues to teach in her home studio where she enjoys the enthusiasm and excitement students bring to their interactions. 

Her work is mid-fire porcelain and all glazes are food safe. Dinnerware is microwave, oven and dishwasher safe.
